Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Ophthalmology. Will work in various adult clinics throughout the area including Central West End campus and South County. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Position is responsible for evaluating and treating patients within multiple adult clinical locations of the WU Ophthalmology Department. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Evaluates and treats patients including: * refractive exams * contact lens fitting and dispensing * emergency exams * evaluation and management of medical diseases of the eye 2. Discusses and interprets findings with patients and suggests appropriate remedy. 3. Adheres to established compliance guidelines to include those governing the appropriate coding of patient services and diagnoses. 4. Adheres to established quality, safety and hazardous material procedures. 5. Performs other duties as assigned by the director of ophthalmology. Required Qualifications * Doctor of Optometry is required. * Licensed in the state of work location, Missouri and/or Illinois, required. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of current state and federal regulations affecting optometry practice and demonstrated ability to implement standards of accuracy and judgement. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $95,014 - $121,118 annually.
