Essential Functions
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position assists with technical aspects of quantitative proteomics experiments, including preparation of samples and general lab duties.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with proteomics experiments, including sample preparation, collection of data, and computational data analysis.
- Analyzes protein samples from collaborations under the supervision of lab staff.
- Performs routine maintenance and tuning of mass spectrometry instrumentation.
- Prepares tissue culture media, general lab reagents, solutions and buffers, and mass spectrometry/chromatography consumables.
- Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory samples, reagents and chemicals.
- Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly maintained in accordance with established procedures.
- Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and up to one year of experience in a laboratory setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience equaling four years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate with laboratory staff and investigators.
- Ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports.
- Working knowledge of computer software (including Word and Excel) and general lab equipment.
Salary Range
The hiring range for this position is $14.07 - $18.99 per hour.
