Essential Functions
A postdoctoral position is available to conduct research on the role of viruses and associated mechanisms in pathogenesis of congenital heart disease. The laboratory of Dr. Pirooz Eghtesady takes an integrative approach by studying both murine models and human samples. The postdoc will collaboratively and independently conduct experiments to determine the burden of and magnitude of contribution of cardiotropic viruses to congenital heart diseases through virome and VirScan analysis experiments and also participate in analysis of existing knockout mice in the laboratory.

Required Qualifications
- M.D., D.V.M., Ph.D., or an equivalent degree.
- Strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology.
- Familiar with construction of phage libraries, end-point and qPCR, ELISA, cell culture, IHC, IP and immunoblotting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in congenital heart disease.
Salary Range
Base pay commensurate with experience.
