Essential Functions

The Departments of Neurosurgery and Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis and Medtronic invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the broad areas of functional MR imaging and machine learning. _Areas of expertise that are of particular interest include knowledge and experience in analyzing task-based and resting state functional imaging. Additionally, experience with machine learning will be useful as novel functional imaging techniques will also be tested. The academic-industry collaborative project involves the development of a proprietary software imaging technology that will be integrated with the Medtronic Neurosurgical Navigation Platform (Stealth)_. Specific questions of interest will involve comparing task and resting state mapping topography and reliability. We will be additionally evaluating the potential for novel task based approaches. The effort will involve working in a multi-disciplinary environment that includes engineers, neurosurgeons, and radiologists and engaging in both an academic and corporate environment. The fellowship will provide a strong translational experience that will support both academic and industry career interests.

Required Qualifications

The position requires a Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, or a related field, as well as excellent programming and computational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

A strong research background in computer programing and imaging is preferred.

Salary Range

Base pay commensurate with experience.
