Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Although the position is based in St. Louis, the objective requires some international travel to developing countries. Essential Functions Postdoctoral Fellowship: Translational research on lymphatic filariasis and onchocerciasis The Infectious Diseases Division of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for research related to the elimination programs for lymphatic filariasis and onchocerciasis (www.dolfproject.wustl.edu). We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to perform laboratory research on diagnostics and genomics of filarial parasites in St. Louis. Goal of the project is to identify biomarkers for onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis. The successful applicant will have extensive experience in parasitology or microbiology, molecular biology and genomics. Knowledge in proteomics and computational biology would be helpful. The fellow will work together with a large group of international scientists from different disciplines and will have the option to participate in field research and sample collection in Africa and Asia. Required Qualifications * Ph.D. degree. * Extensive experience in parasitology or microbiology, molecular biology and genomics. * Strong publication background in peer-reviewed journals. Preferred Qualifications * Fluent in English and working knowledge in French would be an advantage. Salary Range Base pay commensurate with experience.
