Green Park Senior Living Community Electronic Health Records Coordinator LPN, Hourly in St. Louis, Missouri
The EHR Coordinator position must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Register Nurse with an active license. This position exists to ensure compliance of Electronic Health Records and active and inactive medical records contain sufficient documentation to accurately reflect the resident’s condition from admission through discharge and protect records through confidentiality and from unauthorized use, theft, and damage. This position must work effectively with team members in ensuring that work is accomplished in a timely, effective, well organized, and safe manner, while focusing on delivering quality resident care. The position must also manage the resources that are available to them in their job.
Job duties & responsibilities
SERVES AS THE MAIN POINT OF CONTACT AS RELATED TO THE ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD
Collaborates with DON and ED in problem solving, assessing processes and issues, and communicating with other staff and physicians to develop solutions resulting in efficient and functional workflows of the software applications.
Train and support the end users in each functional area requiring utilization and access to the EHR. Includes all staff, Physicians, non-employees, etc. Identify training needs; plan and conduct training as requested.
Audit and monitor the daily, weekly, monthly and annual compliance of the software application.
Maintain daily responsibilities as assigned.
Function within scope of professional practice guidelines and all other disciplinary standards of practice.
Maintain current Nursing licensure.
Maintain client confidentiality and function within HIPAA regulations.

MAINTAINS RESIDENT MEDICAL RECORDS OF BOTH A SOFT FILE AND ELECTONIC FILE
Maintains Electronic Health Record (EHR) integrity through scanning, filing, copying, assembling, and retrieving patient records. Responsible for the appropriate disbursement of medical records per HIPAA guidelines.
Audits records of new admissions according to established criteria to assure completeness, accuracy and compliance with State/Federal regulations
Audits active and inactive records for assure completeness, accuracy and compliance with State/Federal regulations
Audit discharge records according to established criteria to assure completeness, accuracy and compliance with State/Federal regulations
Audit Medical Leave of Absence records upon transfer and return
Maintain Discharge logs to ensure all charts are audited.
Compiles and files closed records
Ensures medical records are thinned according to established policy and procedures
PROCESSES RESIDENT MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION TO BE FILED
Ensures maintenance of forms used in the center for both soft file and electronic
Ensures maintenance of physician logs and annual resident history and physicals
Files, copies and produces statistical reports as needed
May perform ancillary filing and copying as required
PERFORM ALL OTHER GENERAL AND/OR SPECIFIC CLERICAL DUTIES REQUIRED
Assess and fulfill inventory needs in the Medical Records Department
Ensures that admission and readmission charts are compiled completely and accurately for both soft file and electronic
Will perform data entry and other computer related functions
May fulfill correspondence requests and other duties as needed
ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE IN SCHEDULED TRAINING, EDUCATION CLASSES, AND ORIENTATION PROGRAMS TO MAINTAIN AND ENHANCE QUALITY OF CARE.
Attend all required in-service and training programs required within your department.
Attend any mandatory meeting as required by your center.
MAINTAIN AND WORK WITHIN ESTABLISHED DEPARTMENTAL, CENTER, AND CORPORATE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, OBJECTIVES, QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, AND SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL AND INFECTION CONTROL STANDARDS.
- Promptly report any suspected resident abuse, neglect or misappropriation to the DON.
