Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Emergency Medicine. The position is located at Renard Hospital. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Some travel required. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Position works with Research Director to oversee complex clinical research infrastructure, serves as a resource to provide comprehensive information to clinical research staff by promoting a smooth operational structure; responsible for financial management of clinical funds and will supervise as the HR manager of the Clinical Research Coordinators. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manages financial aspect of industry-sponsored clinical trials study start-up, which includes budget negotiations with industry sponsor, working with other hospital and university departments to determine costs (pharmacy, lab and imaging quotes), and setting up the study and calendar in Oncore. 2. Directly manages and serves as a resource to the coordinators, ensuring appropriate human resources process are explained and followed. Management of research coordinators may include the hiring process, onboarding compliance, and evaluation process and personnel problems (i.e. counseling measures and discharge of personnel). Positions will maintain personnel records; completes and directly oversees scheduling of research staff schedule, approving timesheets. All aspects will be done in conjunction with the Research Director and Executive Director. 3. Assists the Research Director with setting up applicant interviews, research seminar, research committee meetings, IRB committee review board meetings, and preparing the research physician on-call schedule. 4. Reviews and reconciles payments made from Department Research fund with the appropriate Clinical trial funds. 5. May assist the Research Manager with submissions of grant applications. 6. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Equivalent of BA in business or related field. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree. * PC and data management skills (Microsoft, Redcap, OnCORE). * Strong organizational skills with prior experience in financial management of grants. * Five years of personnel management experience. * Clinical trials research experience. * Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to communicate in oral and written form with all levels of personnel. * Ability to prioritize tasks in a diverse environment. * Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $56,472 - $73,403 annually.
