GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Director is responsible for successfully managing and operating a centralized patient placement center. The Director provides the leadership and resources required to meet patient needs and financial objectives to support growth for SSM Health the St. Louis market. This position must partner with leaders throughout SSM Health to drive initiatives and services creating operational efficiencies. The Director is responsible for ensuring exceptional and efficient operational processes for the transfer center in accordance with the Mission and values of SSM Health. This includes communicating, directing, planning, organizing, and financial monitoring to facilitate the delivery of cost-effective, high quality health care services, in an ever changing and competitive healthcare environment.

  7. Provides operational oversight to areas of responsibility ensuring timely and safe patient transfers from referring institutions and other admission sources. Collaborates with clinical groups and physician groups to continually refine protocols to deliver and exceptional experience.

  8. Assures patient safety by developing and implementing effective policies and processes that are compliant with TJC and regulatory requirements.

  10. Provides support and assures that employees are performing their work consistent with organizational expectations and policies and procedures.

  11. Communicates, facilitates, translates, establishes boundaries and celebrates with team members to achieve exceptional employee engagement.

  12. Assesses and assures selection, coaching, development and alignment of the team members work with achieving departmental plans based on organizational expectations.

  14. Understand finance principles, budgets, reimbursement principles, capital expenditures, productivity measures and ensure departments meet financial expectations.

  15. Develops and continually monitors key priorities and goals, collects and analyzes data and presents results to both staff and decision makers.

  16. Continually measures progress towards key goals, collaborating with strategy and business development, marketing, and physician specialty groups to increase number of patient referrals.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Understand the Mission and Values of SSM Health Care and Franciscan Sisters of Mary.

  2. Ability and desire to integrate CQI/lean principles and tools into work processes.

  3. The ability to set and maintain high standards of performance in a collegial environment, holding people accountable for achieving deliverable metrics and in doing so, one who encourages open dialogue and delegates authority and accountability comfortably.

  5. Educational/experience requirements

a. Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s highly preferred

b. State of MO RN license

c. Minimum 3-5 years supervisory experience
