The Lakeland Behavioral Health System Residential Treatment Center is growing and adding new therapist positions! We are looking for Provisional Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPCs) who play well with others and would fit in with a very diverse, successful therapist team with unusual longevity (Yes, the therapists really like their job here). We provide residential treatment for children and adolescents from across the country, from Maine to Hawaii and Alaska to Florida. This is a challenging job, yet extremely rewarding when your patient, who typically has had previous placement failures, successfully completes our program and leaves with the opportunity to live a healthy, productive life.

To be a part of our Therapist Team, you must meet these requirements:

  • PLPC license in the State of Missouri – we will provide FREE LICENSURE SUPERVISION

  • Team player across all disciplines – Teamwork is at the heart of our success

  • Self-motivated, thorough, detail-oriented and able to work independently without constant supervision and follow-up

  • Thick-skinned with a high boiling point and a good poker face

  • Excellent interpersonal skills/Customer Service while maintaining solid personal boundaries

  • Excellent keyboard skills and proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel

This is what you’ll be doing:

  • Providing weekly Individual, Family and Group Therapies

  • Working with 9 - 18 year old age group, both females and males

  • Providing all case management for your patients, including discharge planning and discharge summaries and, at times, discharge recommendations for court

  • Participating in weekly staff meetings to evaluate patient progress

  • Participating in bi-weekly or monthly case management calls

  • Participating in monthly Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Plan Updates

  • Meeting weekly with your licensure supervisor (FREE SUPERVISION – a $400 - $500 monthly bonus)

  • Working for a Clinical Director who is not a micro-manager

This is basically a Monday through Friday 8-5 position, but there are times when you might have to come in on a weekend for Family Therapy sessions. Your flexibility and dependability are rewarded with you being able to flex your schedule – within limits – to meet your needs and how you work best.
