As a Unit Manager, you will be is responsible for managing and coordinating the Clinical Review Specialists, ensuring external client satisfaction. Coordinates, manages and facilitates workload, assignments, tasks and projects. What you will do in this role: Maintain an adequately trained staff to review and complete requests according to specified format and deadlines Provide coaching and development through informal observation and formal monitoring, voice and emails and conducting side-by-sides. Maintain and monitor scheduling for all staff members which includes time off and overtime issues; approve employee time records. Manage staff and ensure that subordinate staff are effectively coached and developed for driving high performance and effectively and efficiently handling current and anticipated targets/goals. Provide performance feedback to staff members. Complete and maintain required documentation regarding performance and training/development. Manage employees across multiple client sites. Establishes adequate staffing levels to effectively manage operations. Adjusts levels as necessary for new business or expanded services. Oversee staff activity relating to hiring, training, coaching, monitoring, appraising, disciplining and terminating within assigned area to ensure a quality workforce. Ensure that staff is efficient with: proper insurance, demographic and eligibility information is obtained and entered into the system accurately. Document progress notes to the patient's file and the hospital computer system. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Associate's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field. Bachelor's preferred. EXPERIENCE RN from an accredited school of nursing Required Current, active RN license Required 3-4 years experience in acute care environment 5 years previous utilization management experience in a managed care and/or hospital setting Computer proficiency An associate or bachelor's degree in nursing or a hospital-sponsored diploma program. Knowledge and proficiency of established clinical standards and guidelines Good organizational skills preferred Experience in both nurse review and assisting with the utilization review appeals process.
