Location/Division Specific Information
The Genetic Sciences Division (GSD), based in South San Francisco is at the forefront of innovation for genetic analysis research and clinical applications. The Genetic Testing Solutions (GTS) within the GSD is a cross-platform organization designed to accelerate growth in the clinical space. The team is dedicated to working across all genetic analysis platforms with focus on high-growth opportunities - developing products/solutions for key applied clinical markets such as infectious disease, pharmacogenomics, public health and oncology.
What will you do?
The Sr. Scientific Affairs Manager will be part of the Medical and Scientific Affairs (MSA) team and report to the Sr. Director with primary focus on the clinical markets. This includes collaborating with different platform-specific R&D and Marketing teams to generate scientific evidence to support the product.
Has had experience working in various therapeutic areas especially infectious diseases, oncology, and inherited diseases.
Understands trends in conventional and molecular diagnostic methods. Has strong knowledge of qPCR, CE, Microarray and NGS platforms and the corresponding clinical applications.
Understand scientific studies to support pre-launch and on-market clinical products. This would include concept, study design, drafting and reviewing study protocols and writing study reports.
Be able to devise a publication plan around the scientific studies that includes scientific abstracts, posters, case reports, and manuscripts for submission to scientific congresses or peer-reviewed journals.
Building a strong KOL network, conduct scientific advisory boards and facilitate key influencers to generate publications in reputable scientific journals to create awareness and advance our clinical interests.
Understands genetic analysis "sample-to-answer" workflows of various customer segments. Leverages diverse global experience across various stakeholders (labs, hospitals, clinicians, patients, payers and policy makers) to advance clinically relevant solutions globally.
How will you get here?
Bachelors Degree Required
Doctorate level degree (PharmD, MD, PhD); or, Master's level degree in related discipline preferred
Infectious Disease and Oncology experience highly preferred.
Experience in biotech / pharmaceutical business preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated excellent writing skills in the form of first author scientific publications and conference presentation skills. Candidates will be expected to show objective proof in the form of published articles and/or presentations.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with KOLs, partners and customers to positively advance the organizational/brand's strategic and tactical objectives
Able to act independently and assume responsibility for multiple initiatives in a fast-faced environment yet remain flexible in response to changing needs and competing demands.
