SSM Health RN Informatics in Saint Louis, Missouri

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides integrated workflow expertise and serves as an optimization champion bringing the breadth and depth of clinical and informatics knowledge and partners with regional practice leads to achieve clinical outcome.

  • Provides suggestions for use of technology to improve patient safety to meet organizational goals.

  • Promotes optimum use of available technology and applications.

  • Supports the integration and use of evidence-based methods, tools, and guidelines linked to effective outcomes.

  • Advocates for patients' needs and rights pertaining to clinical information systems, including issues of confidentiality of medical information.

  • Translates nursing practice information between nurses and systems engineers, analysts, or designers using object-oriented models or other techniques.

  • Supports the quality team with the development, implementation and evaluation of desired clinical programs and outcomes using quality and efficiency of our systems and informatics solutions.

  • Utilizes skills of communication, change management, process analysis, risk assessment, scope definition, and team building, along with business and application knowledge in the management of projects involving informatics solutions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing

EXPERIENCE

  • Three years' registered nurse experience in nursing informatics

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.
