Aerotek PCR Technician in Saint Louis, Missouri
Aerotek Scientific is currently seeking qualified candidates for PCR Technician opportunities. Candidates must be open to multiple shifts for these roles.
Lab technicians will be running COVID tests through PCR instrumentation on site. They will start with 3 PCR machines (96 well plate) and could possibly increase that number depending on demand. Lab technicians will set up and put samples into the PCR instrument and run it. They will be expected to keep everything organized and they hope to eventually process 1,000 specimens per machine in a 24 hour period. Technicians will eventually need to be very efficient. They are hoping to have all COVID tests processed and outcomes determined within 24 hours. (we are still confirming if they will be responsible for reading test results. they will be signed off on by a physician for sure, but still waiting to hear if they will also be responsible for the data review.)
Top Skills Details:
minimum 1 year of experience with PCR (96 well-plate)
bachelors degree in scientific discipline
human biology experience preferred
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
must have one year minimum experience in running PCR (can be from academic setting)
must have a bachelors degree in a scientific discipline
must be comfortable handling COVID samples and working in a lab at a hospital
