Upon successful completion of the class component, 100 hours of clinical department training are also required.** This position requires 36 hours/week from 6:30PM-7:00AM with rotating weekends and holidays. Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and nonclinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient. Demonstrates knowledge of and practices sound infection control techniques.b. Assesses safety needs and provides for a safe environment: Fall Precautions; Restraint Management; Patient Identification; Unit/Departmental Specific Policiesc. Labels and properly secures guest s/patient s personal property.d. Adheres to hospital wide safety regulations.e. Performs equipment safety checks and reports faulty equipment/initiates repair.f. Follows policy/procedure for completion of incident reports.g. Follows confidentiality policy/procedure.h. Complies with patient rights/regulations.Coordination of Services:a. Assists in the orientation of new/float personnel.b. Acquires adequate supplies to perform daily care.c. Acquires, sets up, and properly disposes of equipment for special procedures.d. Prioritizes appropriately and utilizes good judgement in use of time.e. Participates in QI activities that ensure and enhance quality of patient care.Primary Aspects:a. Administers daily hygiene measures.b. Performs routines daily activities: ambulation, passes trays, snacks, water, feeds patients, turns andpositions patients, observes for skin breakdown.c.
