Upon successful completion of the class component, 100 hours of clinical department training are also required.** This position requires 36 hours/week from 6:30PM-7:00AM with rotating weekends and holidays. Under the supervision of the registered nurse, assist in the individualized care of the patient directed toward achieving the patients' highest level of physical and mental wellness. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to nursing care. Assists in unit operational support tasks or duties. Performs duties and responsibilities in manner consistent with our mission, values, and Company service standards.QUALIFICATIONS: Because you're committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Company . That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications: * Completion of one to two years of college undergraduate studies in Psychology or mental health related field. Successful completion of Basic Skills I course within one month of hire or transfer * Minimum 6 months experience working in a mental health setting. * Must have excellent oral and written skills, caring attitude, and assumption of responsibility. Must be able to deal appropriately with stressful situations. Working as part of a team is essential. Has regular contact with medical and nursing staff and significant contacts with patients and families. Responsibilities: Receives direction from nurse and reports patient's progress and unusual findings in a timely manner.Assists patient with body hygiene and other assigned activities to include:2.1 Skin care2.2 Body/oral hygiene2.3 Personal grooming2.4 Bed positioning2.5 Dangling and walking2.6 Sitting in chair2.7 Bathroom privileges or commode2.8 Using bedpan or urinal2.9 Assists patient in doing their laundry2.10 Other special activities2.11 Documents patient activities when completedMaintains a comfortable patient environment to include:3.1 Straightens and changes linen in occupied and unoccupied beds.3.2 Keeps patient rooms clean and in good order.3.3 Assists in keeping support areas clean and in good order.3.4 Provides for needed supplies/items for patient comfort.3.5 Prepares patient care area for admission.3.6 Assists with transfer/discharge process.11.14 Communicates any follow up items that concern patient care, or clerical tasks and shift to shift follow up.11.15 Encourages and recognizes co-workers when they display initiative and/or make suggestions.
