JMS Senior Living Nursing Assistant in Saint Joseph, Missouri

DescriptionPosition Summary:iWorks under the supervision of the Charge Nurse to provide residents with basic bedside care and assistance with activities of daily living in accordance with the standards, policies and practices of the department.NOTE: For continued employment beyond 120 days following date of hire, the Nursing Assistant must complete the state required CNA course of training and pass the examination.Essential FunctionsAssists residents with activities of daily living as needed.Provides restorative care as directed.Changes residentsi bedding and monitors the cleanliness of resident rooms and clothing.Observes residents for any changes in physical, emotional or behavioral conditions and advises Charge Nurse of concerns.Assists Central Supply with stocking resident rooms.Reports any supply or inventory needs to Charge Nurse.Reports any needed equipment or physical plant repairs to Charge Nurse or Environmental Services Director. ? Assists with mealtime activities including delivering food, feeding residents, moving them to dining areas.Documents resident care.Complies with federal, state, local and company health, safety, and sanitation laws, regulations and standards, including Standard Precautions and Infection Control Guidelines. ? Participates in new employee orientation and training and assists with on-the-job training as directed by the Charge Nurse.Assists family members, caregivers, physicians, and others as needed.Protects the confidential nature of resident information and adheres to resident rights.Follows all company policies and procedures.Attends all required training and meetingsAttends all in-services as directed by the Administrator.Complies with the companyis employee safety prevention and accident reporting program.Participates in and assists residents during fire drills and other safety drills.Timely response and follow through on all communications.Cooperates and problem-solves with other departments and staff, residents, vendors, and others to support overall team and corporate goals.Works extra hours when necessary and performs duties of other positions as needed.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
