WIC/NUTRITION MANAGER PUBLIC HEALTHST. CHARLES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTHSALARY: $52,706.82 per yearThis is a full-time, 40 hour per week position which includes a full range of benefits including Paid Time Off, Extended Medical Leave, Holidays, Employee Health, Dental, Life, Disability, Retirement, and Tuition Assistance programs.PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to coordinate all nutritional services, counseling, and nutritional training to department staff and to plan, supervise, and evaluate the WIC program. The work is performed under the direction of the Assistant Director-Public Health.RESPONSIBILITIES:Plans and recommends WIC program budgetPlans and implements all WIC activities including the nutritional component of the local WIC Program Supervises the health and nutrition education services provided by all local WIC agency staffCoordinates county WIC activities with the Missouri Department of Health and acts as liaison between local WIC provider and state WIC staffPrepares reports, plans, records, and other data related to nutritional servicesInterviews, manages, and assures that all WIC staff is properly trained to perform necessary functionsHandles participant complaints, violations, and fair hearings in accordance with state policies and proceduresAssures that food instrument accountability functions are appropriately assigned andInterviews WIC clients to determine nutritional status and needs - Compiles client medical information, diet history information, and related information - Determines client priority status on waiting lists.Prepares and presents nutrition instruction to expectant mothers and new mothersProvides technical assistance and consultation regarding nutrition and breastfeeding services to other local agency staff and professionals in the communityReviews all lesson plans for all group nutrition education - Supervises teaching plans and materials used by Nutrition EducatorMay have Breastfeeding Coordinator responsibilities if assigned by local WIC ProviderParticipates in staff in-services and/or training sessions related to WIC policies/procedural changesREQUIREMENTS:Bachelors degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Community Nutrition, Home Economics, Public Health Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition or an undergraduate degree including curriculum approved by the American Dietetic Association Minimum three (3) years nutrition program experience Fifteen (15) hours of food and nutrition coursework including diet therapy and community nutritionBasic computer skills required Advance computer skills preferredTO APPLY: Applications must be submitted through the St. Charles County website Employment Opportunities page at http://hr.sccmo.org/hr.
