Among their patients are premature infants whose lungs are underdeveloped and children and adults who have lung diseases such as cystic fibrosis, asthma and COPD.Department Name:i Job Title:i Reports to:i Summary of Duties:i RespiratoryRegistered Respiratory TherapistDirector of CardiopulmonaryApplies current Respiratory Theory appropriate to the age of patients served, utilizes Respiratory Standards of Care and Standards of Practice.i Utilizes principles of Strategic Quality Management, maintains a save environment of care, maintains departmental resources, assist with staff development, contributes to a collaborative practice with other disciplines, and behaves and practices in a manner consistent with the mission and objectives of NRMC.Essential Functions:1.Actively engages with patients providing introduction of self and others involved in patients care.i Communicates effectively with other staff and family.2.Assures individual patient needs for all age groups are met through communication and cooperation with Physicians and other members of the Health Care Team.i Follows standard orders and protocols to implement the appropriate care for Respiratory/Cardiopulmonary patients.3.Positively impacts the patient experience at Nevada Regional Medical Center through enhanced clear, respectful, and effective communication skills.4. Provides accurate documentation of patient information in the electronic medical record.5. Requirements:1.Must maintain a telephone in residence and must available to take call when scheduled. 2.Adhere to appropriate Cardiopulmonary Services dress code.i 3.Credentialed through the Missouri State Board for Respiratory Care.4.Must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation.5.Class C Basic Life Support (CPR) within 90 days of employment and remain current. 6.Advanced Cardiac Life Support within one year of employment and remain current.7.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of employment and remain current.8.Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within one year of employment and remain current.Preferred Requirements:1.Graduated from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.2.Healthcare experience preferred. 3.Experience in Ventilator Management, Stress Test, Pulmonary Function Testing, and Floor Therapy Preferred.
