Job Description:

Community Support Specialist (Youth & Family)

What you’ll get to do: The Community Support Specialist provides support and activities through an organized treatment plan designed to ease an individual’s immediate and continued adjustment to community living. Community Support Specialist use advanced knowledge of psychological concepts, evidenced based interventions and coordinating delivery of mental health services with other services provided by practitioners and community partners.

What you’ll bring: You will bring a proactive, and client centric approach to breaking the stigma of mental health.

Education and Experience: Advanced knowledge in mental health issues as evidenced by a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or other related human service specialized fields of study. A bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and two years of related work experience. A combination of four years or more of advanced education and two years of related work experience. An Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support from an approved institution will also fulfill the educational requirements. Alternatively, four years’ work experience in a related field may substitute for educational requirements.

Where you’ll be working: You’ll be working in the community which will include clients homes, clinics, and other places around the community.
