RESEARCH MEDICAL CENTER is currently looking for a SOCIAL WORKER MSW - CANCER SUPPORT SERVICES - FT DAYS RESPONSIBILITIES: * The Oncology Social Worker MSW will act as liaison with physicians and nurses on staff, other social services staff, ancillary staff, and other medical and support personnel involved in the care of the cancer patient. * This would include inpatient visits and discharge follow up, monthly support group activities, crisis intervention, marketing, and coordinating utilization of community resources. * The Oncology Social Worker provides psychosocial services to patients, families and significant others facing the impact of a diagnosis of cancer. * The scope of services includes clinical practice, education, and administration. * Creates, organizes, and oversees new and existing supportive and educational offerings which enhance patient s well-being and quality of life. QUALIFICATIONS: * Graduate degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. * Minimum of one 1 year of hospital Social Work experience is preferred. * Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required. Excellent communications, organizational and documentation skills required. Must be able to work independently and with a variety of health care disciplines.
