We are currently looking for an ambitious RN Cardiac Surgery Supervisor to help us reach our goals. Unlock your potential here! As a Surgery nurse you must be detail oriented, flexible, able to juggle multiple priorities without missing a beat, adept with technical skills, a team player, and must have excellent communication skills. You must also be able to think critically in a fast-paced, challenging environment. There are many surgical sub-specialties for learning, including neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, trauma, pediatrics, oncology, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, ear/nose/throat, dental, orthopedics, plastic and reconstructive, and transplant surgery. ABOUT THIS UNIT: * Supervises cardiac surgery cases * Two rooms dedicated to cardiac surgery * Approximately 300 cases annually * Team-oriented and fast-paced environment with a wide variety of cases. * Talented physician team that respects the surgical expertise of the staff. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Under the guidance and direction of the Surgery Manager and Director, provides nursing leadership for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and safety in surgery service line. * Acts as expert in service line, reporting out on service line results and working directly with surgeon to improve the performance of the service line. * Manages team directly, including responsibility to complete evaluations, provide accountability utilizing employee rounding, disciplinary process and recognition. Manages representative relationships. * Manages resources in a fiscally responsible manner. * Assures quality care through the initiation and evaluation of patient care utilizing performance improvement process. QUALIFICATIONS * Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing * Current state of Missouri RN licensure required or active compact license. * Certification in area of specialty preferred. * BCLS certification through American Heart Association required and maintained. * Three 3 years current clinical nursing experience required. * 2 years leadership experience preferred * Cardiac surgery experience required At Research Medical Center, above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.
