Overview

The Psychiatric registered nurse (RN) provides services in inpatient and emergency clinical settings. A psychiatric nurse works directly with pediatric patients with psychiatric problems, in addition to supporting the staff who provide direct patient care for pediatric patients with psychiatric problems. The role is aimed at early intervention and treatment of children with mental illness, and includes interdisciplinary collaboration. The Psychiatric RN ensures that all clinical care is delivered in a manner that meets or exceeds goals and expectations for clinical outcomes, quality assurance standards, staff and patient safety and staff and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and meets the educational needs of patients, families, and staff and will be a Mandt Instructor for staff

  • Support staff in the care of psychiatric / behavioral health patients

  • Active participant in the Behavioral Health response team

  • Participates in performance improvement activities, behavioral health regulatory events, attends educational programs, assists with policy/procedure development for behavioral health patients, attends unit meetings or other assigned meetings as indicated, align with DB division

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree BSN and 1-2 years experience as an RN; behavioral health experience preferred

  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire

  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire

  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO

  • MANDT Relational and Technical training required within 60 days of hire

  • MANDT Instructor training required within 120 days of hire

  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $26.56, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
