Provides assistance to the orthodontist in direct patient care activities, maintains a clean working environment, sterilizes instruments and manages dental and orthodontic supplies and materials needed in the day to day operations of the orthodontic clinic.

  • Obtaining impressions, preliminary bending of arch wire, removal of orthodontic bands and bonds, placement and cementation of orthodontic brackets and/or bands.

  • Takes dental radiographs and images.

  • Has equipment sterilized after use, supply inventory and a clean and functioning work environment.

  • Submits patient information for insurance prior authorization for care

  • Maintains appointment schedules and patient communication


  • HS diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years experience Related work experience in expanded functions dental assistant orthodontics role is preferable. Or work experience as a dental assistant in the process to obtain a expanded function permit.

  • Missouri EF-Orthodontics

  • Employees must obtain Missouri EF-Orthodontics or equivalent within 90 days

  • Missouri Expanded Dental Assistant Permit (orthodontics) Required 90 Days
