Jefferson City Manor, in Jefferson City Missouri is looking for Full- Time LPN and RN Charge Nurses to join their team of professionals and help give quality skilled care to our residents in our homelike setting. Jefferson City Manor provides residents with rehab, respite, long-term and hospice care. Our nurses strive to meet all the needs of our residents including assessments, administering medications, and providing education/support to the resident and family. Jefferson City Manor has implemented electronic charting, a Wander Guard system, Wireless Nurse Call system, and utilizes OnShift for convenient staff scheduling. We understand that improving our employee work environment enhances our resident care experiences.iEssential Functionsi Performs skilled nursing services to fulfill Care Plan directives and physician orders to ensure quality care and treatments to residents.i Responsible for managing and overseeing nursing services and quality of care for residents.i Sees to the implementation of Care Plans and physiciansi orders and fulfillment of all required treatments for residents.i Monitors the work of CNAs, CMTs, RAs and NAs and assists where needed.i Observes the performance of nursing staff during shift; resolves employee issues; reports employee issues to the DON.i Takes call on a rotating basis as scheduled by the DON.i Performs all required duties to ensure proper admission and discharge.i Documents and reports any noticed or reported changes in or concerns about resident conditions to the DON.i Appropriately charts all nursing care per facility policies and procedures.i Has resident information available for primary care provider during visits and informs provider of all resident changes or needs.i Performs rounds with attending physician as directed by the DON.i Makes work assignments and ensures shift coverage is adequate to deliver necessary level of care.i Effectively delegates work duties to department staff.i Receives shift report prior to providing care and communicates resident care needs to CMTs and CNAs; provides shift report to oncoming charge nurse.i Directs, instructs and supervises department staff in nursing best practices, infection control and care quality.i Participates in new employee orientation and on-the-job training as directed by the DON.i Ensures compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, and sanitation laws, regulations and standards, including Standard Precautions and Infection Control Guidelines.i Supervises the medication program including orderly medication storage, accuracy of medication/narcotics inventory, proper dispensing and destruction, and timely chart documentation.i Communicates with and maintains positive interactions with residents, family members, caregivers, physicians, and others as needed.i Assists staff and residents with mealtime activities.i Responds to emergency situations and determines the need for emergency services, physician and/or family members.i Works extra hours when necessary and performs duties of other positions as needed.
