Multiple shift options are available. Assistance with Paramedic school is possible. With more than 38,000 employees, GMR teams deliver compassionate, quality medical care, primarily in the areas of emergency and patient relocation services in the United States, the District of Columbia and around the world. GMR was formed by combining the industry leaders in air, ground, managed medical transportation, community medicine, and industrial safety. We provide treatment and transport to nearly 5 million patients in over 4000 communities each year. In addition to air and ground transport GMR provides medical services at thousands of large scale events nationwide for a variety of customers including professional and collegiate sports, auto-racing, concerts, and festivals. GMR is also the medical provider for the Office of Emergency Management FEMA, through which our Emergency Response Team crews deploy from operations nationwide to provide assistance in large scale disasters. Independence is the fifth largest city in Missouri with a diverse population nearing 120,000. AMR Independence provides Advanced Life Support 911 coverage to the cities of Independence, Sugar Creek, and in Southern Platte County. This operation provides medical coverage for high profile events such as the Kansas City Mavericks Hockey games, NASCAR races at the Kansas Speedway, Mixed-Martial Arts venues, local high school athletics and many more. Members of this operation have been deployed through FEMA to serve in the wake of large scale natural disasters throughout the country. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver s license, driving record in compliance with AMR policy regarding insurability, current EMT license issued by the State of Missouri, and BLS/CPR certification. Successful candidates must submit to and have an acceptable background screening and be willing and able to work 12 hours shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Must pass a Physical Agility Test and post offer drug screen. Must have good physical stamina, endurance and body condition that will not be adversely affected by frequently having to sit, walk, stand, lift, drag, hoist, balance and carry different types of equipment and other objects.
