Aerotek Specimen Accessioner in Earth City, Missouri
Daily Requirements - get station ready - grab medical samples as they come through the door, entering them into the computer system - log various samples in the system (some come in on manual requisitions also) - specimens need to be handled safely and correctly - sometimes have to pour urine samples into alloclot tubes, plasma as well - processing samples and getting them ready for shipment (predominately blood that comes straight from phlebotomy) - check specimen temperature logs - get supplies in boxes ready for next day or week - paperwork storage through the proprietary computer system, file maintenance, their team scans about 15,000 pages of requisitions and prescriptions per day - will follow SOPs - learn how to balance the centrifuge at some point
