Day ShiftThe Inpatient and Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a technically educated, licensed, health care provider who carries out Physical Therapy patient care programs or portions thereof as planned and directed by a licensed Physical TherapistBegin

  • Honor the value of the team and work in concert with others to create a personal experience for every patient or customer

  • Honor and respect the diverse nature, beliefs, values and lifestyles of patients, families and colleagues

  • Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients as they practice exercises and functional activities. Confer with physical therapy staff and others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment

  • Administer treatment interventions including but not limited to active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, aquatic therapy and heat, light, sound, water, and electrical modality treatments

  • Observe patients during treatments to compile and evaluate data on patients' responses and progress, and report to physical therapist

  • Measure patients' range-of-joint motion, body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations

  • Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment

  • Train patients in the use of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices

  • Transport patients to and from treatment areas, lifting and transferring them according to positioning requirements

  • Monitor operation of equipment and record use of equipment and administration of treatment

  • Assume leadership roles in various aspects of the clinic’s daily operations

  • Participate in community service, fundraising events and informational programs

  • Assist PT in initiating and implementing new programs to the clinic.

  • Instruct patients and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home

  • Documents progress notes daily in a timely fashion

  • Achieves value based provider through expense control

  • Assures goal of unrelenting commitment to quality patient and employee satisfaction

  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the rehab managers and executive director

  • Perform duties with respect, courtesy and kindness to achieve excellence in customer service

  • Create environment of efficiency and concern for the needs of the patients

  • Work effectively with all personnel to create an environment of cooperation and respect

Become

  • Graduate of a Physical Therapists Assistant Associate degree program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education

  • Current licensure in the State of Missouri as a Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Certification in CPR through American Heart Association

  • Valid drivers license and unlimited access to relaiable automobile with appropriate insurance, as required by law

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
