Description
Day ShiftThe Licensed Practical Nurse shall develop a general knowledge of the nursing process. The LPN shall demonstrate ability in the follow areas: communication skills, professional growth, patient/staff/student education and clinical skillsBegin
Review patient charts for next day to have a foundation for visit expectations
Prepare patients for examination (vitals, medication sheets, diagnosis sheet, etc.)
Assist with examinations
Stock supplies in exam rooms
Call in prescriptions and refills for clinic patients (including controlled substances)
Oversee follow-up procedures
Triage phone calls and problems
Perform diagnostic procedures and treatments as ordered
Obtains permits
Performs operation of practice instrumentation
Obtain pre-certifications for procedures
Give prep instructions to patient when procedure is scheduled
Provide instructions to patient on plan of care and post procedure care
Provide company's representatives with appropriate communication regarding appointments, testing, outcomes of visits, and work status
Prepare documentation for Physician to take to the Hospital as needed
Review incoming lab reports that are abnormal and keep physician informed
Provide hearing conservation programs, respiration training and testing, pre and post-employment physicals, annual testing, audiograms vision, PFT, fit testing respirators, EKG, accu-checks, blood draws, drug screenings, BAT testing per employer requirements
Provides drug testing collections for hire, post injury, for cause and random. Also processing and/or sending to proper facility; follow-up testing results; communication with designated employer representative; tracking results; annual report given to employer for positive and negative values
Keep drug cabinet organized and stocked with current expiration dates
Makes appointment for tests (lab, x-ray, etc)
Coordinate Repiratry Mask Fit Program
Review and investigate all Southeast employee injury reports and presents month statistic to Administration, EOC Committee, Infection Prevention Committee and department managers as requested
Maintain OSHA lab and complete yearly reports
Coordinates worker compensation benefits and billing with outside worker’s compensation claims company of or all SoutheastHEALTH employees
Makes appointment for referrals to specialists (orthopedics, neurologists, neurosurgery, etc.)
Assist with office duties as required (answer phones, filing documents and charts, etc.)
Performs other job duties as requested by the Physician or Program Director of HealthWorks.
Duties require interaction with different age groups of employees, patients, visitors and recognition that different age groups require specialized attention or care
Become
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Missouri
Certification in Hearing Conservation and Pulmonary Function Testing as necessary
Certification in a related discipline is recommended
Prefer 3 years of physician’s office background and/or Occupational Medicine experience
Basic Cardiac Life Support
Complete NextGen and computer training
Complete drug screen/Accuchek/urine testing training within 90 days and annually
Blood draw and EKG training
Must be able to read, write and speak English
