  • Supervise Nurse Aids, Unit Techs and other ancillary staff

  • Demonstrate an understanding of “Hospice Respite” and provide for the care of the patient

  • Understand and incorporate into care the unique needs of the Neutropenic patient

  • Demonstrate/practice the necessary precautions for safe chemo therapy administration

  • Demonstrate safe care of patients with chest tubes, drains and wounds

  • Identify basic cardiac arrhythmias and the procedure to follow for dangerous arrhythmias

  • Identify the signs and symptoms of CHF and AMI and meet the core measures requirements for these patients

  • Current BCLS certification


  • Graduation from a professional nursing program

  • Registered professional nurse licensed by the state of Missouri and current CPR certification

  • Complete basic cardiac arrhythmia course within the first 90 days of employment

  • Gain ACLS certification within 90 days of employment

  • Must pass Chemo/ Biotherapy course prior to administering Chemotherapy

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
