Description
Day ShiftAssess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, increase function and decrease or prevent deformity of patients suffering from disease or injuryBegin
Perform an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention
Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to improve or restore physical function, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients
Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
Administer treatment interventions including but not limited to functional activities, therapeutic exercise, heat, cold, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy, manual exercises, massage, and traction to help relieve pain, increase the patient's strength, increase function, and decrease or prevent deformity and crippling
Delegate aspects of patient treatment to a physical therapy assistant
Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home
Confer with the patient, medical practitioners and appropriate others to plan, implement and assess the intervention program
Review physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine evaluation procedures and physical therapy treatment required
Document the initial evaluation, plan of care treatment, progress and discharge of patients accurately and timely
Discharge patient from physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow up care or referrals
Comply with the rules and regulations set forth by the Missouri Physical Therapy practice act
Provide training and supervision in therapy techniques and objectives for less experienced therapists and newly hired PTs
Participate in role of clinical instructor for physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students from accredited institutions
Assist in goal of value based provider through control of expenses
Assume responsibility for leadership roles in initiating and implementing new programs for the facility
Assist in goal of unrelenting quality, patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction
Assume leadership roles in various aspects of the clinic’s daily operations as requested by the PT manager or HP Executive Director
Participate in community service, fundraising events, and informational programs as requested by Rehab manager or HP Executive Director
Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the rehab managers and executive director
Perform duties with respect, courtesy and kindness to achieve excellence in customer service
Create environment of efficiency and concern for the needs of the patients
Work effectively with all personnel to create an environment of cooperation and respect
Become
Current license as a professional Physical Therapist in the state of Missouri
Certification in CPR through American Heart Association
Completion of at least 30 hours of acceptable continuing education hours every two years
LANA Certification will be completed by designated lymphedema therapist
Maintains educational requirements for recertification
CLT-LANA Credentials will be achieved within 2 years and maintained
Must be able to read, write and speak English
