Night ShiftThe Licensed Practical Nurse shall develop a general knowledge of the nursing process. The LPN shall demonstrate ability in the follow areas: communication skills, professional growth, patient/staff/student education and clinical skillsBegin
Honor the value of the team and work in concert with other to create a personal experience for every patient or customer
Honor and respect the diverse nature, beliefs, values and lifestyles of patients, families and colleagues
Float to medical surgical impatient units
Organize and utilize nursing process
Critical thinking skills
Gives direct patient care according to the plan of care and individual patient needs as directed by the care plan
Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well being of the patient
Administers prescribed medications safely, including managing IVs within scope of practice
Completes documentation in electronic medical record
Provides appropriate information to assist the Registered Nurse in preparation and maintenance of an effective care plan
Communicates in a courteous and professional manor with co-workers, physicians, patients, ancillary departments and visitors
Provides patient education
Maintains confidentiality
Performs other duties as assigned
Become
Graduated from an accredited practical nurse program
Preferrably enrolled in an RN completion program
Current CPR certification
IV certified
Experience working in an acute care evironment, but not required
Licensed Practical Nurse licensed by the State of Missouri
Must be able to read, write and speak English
