Day ShiftThe purpose of this position is to provide leadership for all laboratory services. This position provides leadership for the overall direction, business development, financial performance, performance improvement, quality of laboratory services, physician collaboration, operations and patient satisfactionBegin

  • Works with Administration and Marketing departments in development of the client base in the Outreach Laboratory, evaluating service areas and assisting in the establishment of new client price structures

  • Ensures that the Laboratory department meets the needs of patient age groups, including neonate, child, adolescents, adult, and elderly in the provision of specialized services and care through proper orientation, training, and continuing education of all employees

  • Promotes collegial interdisciplinary team relationships to support delivery of laboratory services

  • Develops, maintains and supports capital and operational budgets for assigned areas. Manages expenses to achieve annual financial goals

  • Prepares business plans for capital projects greater than $100,000

  • Promotes and creates operational effectiveness and efficiencies in assigned areas to improve financial performance

  • Determines quality, business and operational measurement criteria to monitor performance

  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies with jurisdiction over all assigned areas

  • Provides leadership to supervisors and assigned department employees to provide:

  • Positive, open, effective communication with employees

  • Effective and efficient scheduling of work assignments and working hours

  • Clear expectations and appropriate and timely performance review and assessment. Appropriate coaching, counseling and disciplinary action as necessary

  • Continuing education and training as needed for safe and technically competent operation of Laboratory Services.

  • Continuing education and training as needed for safe and technically competent operation of all laboratory services

  • Organizes resources to provide efficient and prompt service to customers

  • Manages coding and charging processes for outreach lab services

  • Anticipates emerging trends in Laboratory medicine and evaluates impact on current services, technology and market

  • Researches, analyzes, conceptualizes, forecasts and launches new products/clinical programs

  • Ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain and inventory management in Laboratory Services

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Become

  • S. degree in Medical Technology required. Advanced degree such as MS or MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience required

  • Should maintain current certification requirements from a nationally recognized institution (ASCP or NCA)

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
